Interdisciplinary Centre for Social Justice presents NUALS PD 2014

The Inter-disciplinary Centre for Social Justice(ICSJ) aims to study and research on laws and policies of the socially and educationally backward classes and minorities in India. The centre addresses the constitutional mandate to create an egalitarian society and also commits itself to understanding the rights of the downtrodden as enshrined in the Constitution of India.

As a means of achieving the objectives of ameliorating poverty and social backwardness inherent in our society,we believe it is imperative to derive consensus from the youth of this country. Parliamentary debating in today's world has evolved into a formal forum for discussing and deliberating over social issues that have their roots deeply entrenched in the society.

Following the same, the Centre has decided to organise the NUALS Asian Parliamentary Debate 2014 focusing on the theme of ‘Social Justice’.

One team, One dream, One aim!

The Interdisciplinary Centre for Social Justice (ICSJ), NUALS was envisaged as a means of facilitating and bringing to life the abstract concept of Social Justice. We, the Students of NUALS, believe that Social Justice is the basis and essence of a harmonious global society. Through this centre we hope to bring about the much needed change in our society by conducting programmes that throw light upon the various injustices that prevail in our current system.

We believe that the first step towards social justice and social change is debate & discussion. Only by involving those around us will we be able to open the channels of debate & discussion and spread awareness regarding the same. The centre thus hopes to bring together young minds to debate contemporary issues of social relevance, especially in the realm of Social justice.

We are proud to announce that we will be conducting our first edition of the NUALS Parliamentary Debate 2014 from the 10th-12th of October at the NUALS Campus. This initiative would not have been possible without the constant encouragement, unending support and guidance of our  Professor Shri.Abhayachandran, we thank him for the same.
